Next Big Leap

You are paying to be found by guests who already knew your name

The booking sites take their cut either way. Your own site could have taken that booking.

Where the money goes

You earned that booking. Someone else got paid for it.

Someone sees the place on Instagram. They like the look of it. A friend has been and said it was lovely.

Then they search your name, land on a booking site and book there.

You have just paid a fifth of that stay to a company whose only job was listing you. The guest already wanted to come.

Worth working out

Add it up for last year

Take what came in through the booking sites last year. Knock off the share they kept.

That is roughly what you paid to be introduced to people who already knew your name.

For most places we look at, it is more than this whole job would cost.

Why it happens

Why guests book on the platform instead of with you

They cannot picture the week

Lovely photographs, but nothing that tells them what Tuesday actually looks like. The platform spells it out, so they trust the platform.

The rate is hard to find

On the booking site it is right there. On yours it is behind an enquiry form. People do not fill in forms to find out a number.

Booking is easy there and awkward here

Three taps on the platform. On your site it is an email and a wait. Every extra step sends someone back.

Every retreat says the same words

Escape. Unwind. Reconnect. Yours says them too, so nothing about the words makes anyone choose you.

None of that is about how good the place is.

What it costs

You will know the price before you agree to anything

  • A fixed price, agreed before we start.
  • You can pay it in stages.
  • We do this work between November and February, so it is finished before the season.
  • Send us your website and you will have a price within one working day.

What we will not do

  • Make the place look like a hotel chain.
  • Put you on a monthly fee.
  • Tell you to post more on Instagram.

The character of the place is why people come. We are not going to sand it off.

Who you would be dealing with

A small team that answers its own emails

We are a digital team and we keep the whole job in one place. The words, the pictures, the booking side, all of it.

Write in November and you hear back from the people who would be doing the work. There is nobody in between.

We know your year has a shape. Nobody sensible starts this in July.

Next step

Tell us about the place

Send us your website and tell us roughly how much of your business comes through the booking sites. You will get an answer within one working day, with a price. We will tell you honestly whether we can help.

November to February is the sensible window.
